Deep Tissue Massage Kakkanad
If you prefer a massage with more pressure, deep tissue massage offers a different experience from a general body massage.
At Monalisa Spa & Massage Center, the treatment uses slower and more focused pressure on areas of the body where you would like additional attention. Before the session, you can communicate your preferences with the therapist.
Our spa is located in Kangarappady, Kalamassery, making it convenient for guests from Kakkanad, Kalamassery, Edappally and nearby areas of Kochi.
What Is Deep Tissue Massage?
Focused Pressure Rather Than a Light Massage
Deep tissue massage generally involves slower movements and firmer pressure than a regular relaxation massage.
The idea is to spend more time working on areas that feel particularly tight rather than treating every part of the body in exactly the same way.
Before beginning the session, you can discuss with the therapist the areas you want to focus on.
What Can You Expect?
A More Targeted Massage Session
The session begins with a conversation about areas you want attention and your preferences.
The therapist then works accordingly through the selected areas using controlled pressure. The pressure is not kept at one level throughout the entire treatment; it can be adjusted depending on your comfort.
Tell the therapist if you prefer a stronger massage. If the pressure becomes uncomfortable, speak up and ask for an adjustment.
Deep Tissue Doesn't Have to Mean Uncomfortable
Communication With the Therapist Makes a Difference
A firm massage and painful pressure are not the same thing.
Everyone has a different tolerance for pressure. What feels comfortable to one person may feel too strong to another.
That's why we encourage you to communicate with your therapist during the session. If you want the pressure increased, reduced or focused on another area, simply let them know.
Which Areas Can Be Focused On?
Tell Us Where You Need More Attention
People may choose a deeper massage because they want more attention on particular areas.
Before the session, discuss the areas you would like the therapist to work on. This could include areas that feel tight after sitting for long periods, driving, travelling or working at a desk.
Deep Tissue vs Body Massage
Which One Should You Choose?
Both treatments can cover the body, but they are intended for different preferences.
- Body Massage – A more general full-body treatment for guests who want an oil massage and a relaxed session.
- Deep Tissue Massage – A firmer and more focused treatment for guests who prefer slower pressure and want particular areas to receive more attention.
If you're mainly looking for a relaxing full-body oil massage, body massage may be more suitable.
If you specifically prefer stronger pressure, deep tissue massage may be the better option.
After Your Massage
Give Yourself Some Time to Take It Easy
Some people may notice temporary tenderness in areas that received more focused pressure after a deeper massage.
Mild tenderness can occur the following day.
If you experience unusual or significant pain, stop massage sessions and seek appropriate medical advice rather than assuming it is a normal response.
Staying hydrated and giving yourself some quiet time after a massage can also be a sensible part of your routine.
A Clean and Comfortable Space
A Professional Setting for Your Treatment
The treatment room is part of the overall experience.
We keep the massage area clean and prepare it between guests. Fresh linen and a tidy environment help provide a comfortable setting for your session.
You can discuss your preferences with the therapist before the massage begins and settle into the treatment without unnecessary distractions.
